Projects

In both Freshman and Sophomore years, students are required to plan, draft, purchase materials and fabricate a project. These projects are then submitted to the Lincoln Electric Company’s James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation School Shop Awards. These awards are part of a national contest for welded structures judged on usefulness, applied knowledge in the field, welding skill, writing skills and conformity to requirements. The Welding Program has had an outstanding record of success in this contest, and in the 1999-2000 school year, 10 Merit Awards and one Gold Award were won by our students.

Projects made for the Fabrication classes vary widely in size, design and complexity. Trailers, Accessories, and Personal Projects are favorites.
