I have always loved computers (i really like takeing them apart, hehe). People use computers in there everyday lives and about every person i know asks me for help so i figure i will learn a little more to provide a little better help. Also most everthing this day in age floats around computers and tech use in the work place, why not know a little more?

I am actually more interested in tying a solid understanding of computer technology to library science rather than being an actual network manager. I just don't want to be lost when it comes to the computer world, but if I do catch on I might consider a different career field. I'm 42 years old and I did not grow up with computers so I'm trying to join the modern world ...

To be honest, I am not in the Information Technology Field @ the UM College of Technology. I am in the Paralegal Studies Program working towards a certificate in customer relations. All of the classes that I need to complete my degrees are the in Spring. However, I received a scholarship from The University of Montana for both the fall and the spring semesters. I figured that if the University was going to pay for me to go to school, regardless of what classes I "needed" this fall, I would stock up on computer experience. Since computer experience is a "must-have" for most, if not all employers, I am going to take advantage of free money and hope that it pays off when I graduate this Spring!! ~*Angela M. Timm

I chose IT because I enjoy working with computers and wanted to use the technology as a teacher. I do regret choosing COT. The school does not have adequate support for non-traditional students.

I chose the computer field so as to not be so technology challenged. One year ago I did not know how to turn on a computer and now I can achieve many goals by knowing how to use my computer to perform a variety of tasks. It is great fun, and I now look forward to my future career involving computers.

I have not chosen to enter the field of information technology as my area of study, i am going into mechanics, and since cars are being more controlled by computer systems, it would be a good idea for me to have some basic understandings of the structure of information in a set system.

I wasn't really sure what I wanted to get into when I entered college. I wanted to get involved with videogames and opening up a LAN gaming center in a city. I have to learn how to network to do my job correctly, so I took the COMPUTER NETWORKING course here at the UM-COT.

Dear Kent Nelson, I entered the field of Information Technology because I wanted to pursue a career in Information Systems Management. Since I was very young I have had a passion for computers, as the technology, rate of growth, and concepts of these miraculous machines never ceases to amaze me. I received my first computer (a Commodore 64) when I was five years old. I have been on them ever since. They are my passion, so, here I am. Sincerely, Luke Matthew Smith

I am a bit rusty, but I have always been interested in computers and technology. I even took added classes in high school concerning computers (comp-lit), which I enjoyed and if I remember correctly I did quite well. Like I said however it has been a while since I was on a computer but I feel that I should pick it up fast and am already enjoying myself once more.

I chose to enter the Information Technology field for several reasons. 1. There is a demand in the field. 2. You can make a decent living in the field. 3. Computers are not devolving, but evolving. There isn't a business or hardly a home that you go in to that doesn't have a computer, and 4. I like to work on computers. It's a challenge that I enjoy.

I am not actually in the field of Informaiton Technology, I am actually in the Practical Nursing Program. I picked your class up due to the lack of credits needed to meet financial aid requirements. I have taken crt 101 at SKC, and I feel very comfortable to be in your class, and thank you for the opportunity. I admit that I dont know everything about the computer or internet, so I am excited to know that I will learn something new. Thank you Wendy Adams
